La Montagna in Città / The Mountain in the City – via Andrea Doria

La Montagna in Città is a building that generates a virtuous short-circuit between very different urban functions. Located in a narrow and high lot, it involves the creation of a hotel, short stay apartments and smart-working spaces, all vertically crossed by a climbing gym in a 25-meter high multifunctional hall. A cavity for a healthy sport around which are distributed spaces for temporary residence and work. The exterior of this urban cave is treated as an object taken from the mountain landscape and inserted into the city: the side on Viale Doria shows a huge green façade, like a billboard for biodiversity, while the internal façade is composed by multiple and dihedral surfaces, becoming an outdoor climbing wall.

E_ALT: Sport & Wellness Quarter – via Serio

Via Serio project is a building that hosts temporary residences for workers and students, commercial services, sports facilities and medical-sports services designed with particular attention to the Paralympic disciplines. Every program follows the best sustainability design practice up to the controlled origin of the on-site food production. Ultimately, looking at the very near future, the roof is dedicated to the construction of a drone-port that serves as a hub for the innovation of the delivery services of a high-density service-industry area. The name of the project, E_ALT summarizes the idea of innovation based on conscious and alternative choices, on solidarity, social and commercial principles and on the attention to the health and well-being of the community.
