A MODERN RUIN

The architect Aquiles Jarrín has turned an apartment in the centre of Quito into an “indoor” forest. Immersed in lush tropical vegetation, the old structures from the 1970s, laid bare, hold a dialogue with the dark colour of the new palm wood floor. And with metal beams and platforms conceived as a fascinating undergrowth.
